is a work of fiction and written for fun, not profit Rating: PG 13 Warnings: AU, Pairings: 1x2 "The Christmas Tree" Heero did not understand. At all. Duo seemed very pleased with the Christmas tree that currently sat on the living room table. It was barely a twig, with a few needles sticking out pathetically, the twig bending over under the weight of the one simple ornament that Duo had hung on it (Quatre had mailed it to them as a Christmas present. It was a flat silver ornament with “Heero and Duo’s first Christmas” and the year engraved on it. It looked like it was meant for children, but Duo had been ecstatic). Heero thought that Duo would have wanted some gigantic monstrously large tree with lights and baubles and tinsel, but he had surprised him and insisted vehemently on this twig for their apartment and grinned the whole way home, holding the little sapling in his lap and stroking it tenderly. Heero stared at where it sat now, still utterly confused with the twig when Duo grabbed Heero’s arm and tugged him to the couch for another holiday tradition of some sort. Heero had been told that watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” was necessary to keep Duo as his lover. The threat seemed a little extreme, but he willingly sat with him on the couch and held the popcorn bowl as Duo got comfortable. Heero really did not understand this season, or the traditions, or Duo’s choice of decorations at all. But if it made Duo happy, then who was he to complain?
